Dice have release a recent news post detailing all the things they are looking at for the next May patch. the action list is as follows:

- Operations added to the servcer browser
- New free dust night, Nivelle nights released
- Tweaks of player movement
- Tweaks of vehicle movements
- Adjustment to the suppression system
- Adjustment to melee mechanics
- Adjustment to gadgets mechanics
- Adjustment to game mechanics which includes flag locations, burn radius, ticket system and dynamic weather
- Adjustment in HUD
- Adjustment of the kill screen, deploy and final loop

here is my take on the proposed changes and what i've read may actually be happening:

- Operations added to the servcer browser: I don’t play a lot of operations but I’m sure those who do will appreciate this being added to the browser as I know the match making often doesn’t work and would put players into empty games which is annoying
- New free dust night, Nivelle nights released: Free maps. Can’t complain about that! From what I’ve seen this Nivelle Nights looks very nice visually as well as being an infantry focused map is pretty exciting. The dusk setting looks pretty cool too.
- Tweaks of player movement: improvements with interaction with obstacles, improved vaulting and climbing movements.
- Tweaks of vehicle movements: vehicle physics changes to improve movement as well as tweak the way they react to obstacles.
- Adjustment to the suppression system: rumours are that suppression will finally be only for support weapons or maybe even removed all together. Rejoice!
- Adjustment to melee mechanics: the entire system is under review.
- Adjustment to gadgets mechanics: ?
- Adjustment to game mechanics which includes flag locations, burn radius, ticket system and dynamic weather: I hope they bring back the old Battlefield ticket bleed system. There was nothing wrong with it so don’t know why they changed it in the first place. Less weather effects, yes please!
- Adjustment in HUD: ?
- Adjustment of the kill screen, deploy and final loop: they might actually be doing away with the new spawn system. Yes it looks cool at first but I think everyone would agree it doesn’t work. I didn’t think this would be something they’d change but apparently it’s on the list for review. Joy
Smile

what do you guys think of these proposed changes and what else would you like to see done?

Xmas is coming in December! lol, just jokes bro, thanks for the info.. The night map looks pretty cool.. You can keep the elite classes and the horses if you want, but just take away that ridiculous amount of health that the Elite Classes and Calvilary get.

My BF1 Wishlist:
- Lower the Calvary Classes health: I can handle the horse but not the health the player receives for doing nothing!
- Lower Elite Class health or remove them all together.
- Turn off automatic grenade reloads: What's the point of having a support kit (idiots).
- Introduce ping limited multiplayer servers:Perform ping and upload/download tests before all players join a ping limited server. If the player does not meet the requirements then they cannot join this server.

Haha agree with most of that. Also not sure if you realised that is Dice's list, not my wish list. my added notes are just my thoughts on their action list they released on the weekend. Patches are now going to be implemented the middle of the month EVERY month so we should be seeing lots of changes happening.

Also just on your list some of those things have been addressed already!

- Turn off automatic grenade reloads: What's the point of having a support kit (idiots).

Ammo 2.0 was removed in the spring patch so there is no more auto grenade replenishing in the current game. you now have to wait i think 45 seconds or there about and then find a ammo crate to get your nade back. i think if your standing next to an ammo crate the whole time the regeneration is maybe 38 seconds or something like that

- Introduce ping limited multiplayer servers:Perform ping and upload/download tests before all players join a ping limited server. If the player does not meet the requirements then they cannot join this server.

Not sure if you saw the notes regarding the last patch regarding high ping and high latency players? It doesn't ban them exactly but it gives players with good connections (good latency and ping) a clear advantage now. There have been adjustments to the netcode as well which will now disadvantage players with latency over 150ms. Prior to this patch the way the game dealt with latency variations was to do a latency or lag compensation algorithm to try and give the most level game play experience to both the low and high ping players, unfortunately this system didn't work as well as expected which would often give the high ping player a slight advantage, much like the peakers advantage, and enable them to kill the low ping player as their bullets would register first. The new netcode adjustment means that once a player who has latency over over 150ms will be given the disadvantage, in a way making the netcode behave in the opposite way than it did pre-patch. The update basically means that you need latency of 150ms or less for an even playing field, once your latency value is outside that KPI the person with the better connection is given the clear advantage with better bullet and hit registration. The low ping player will start needing to lead shots, get shot behind cover etc. From what i understand, download speed vs latency are two quite different indicators for gaming performance. Players with a download speed of 1.5mbps (once you get lower than 1mbps you will start having ruber banding issues) will have the same experience as someone with a 100mbps provided they both have the same latency value which is very common and likely, the issue is when those latency values are different. Someone on 100mbps can have fast download but just because their download is fast does not necessarily mean they will have a good gaming experience as they can still have high latency, latency variation or high ping (high ping is more unlikely though but possible).

In a nut shell, good connection (ping and latency) players will have the proper battlefield experience now with high ping high latency players being disadvantaged and having a bad time.

I know that this was a big issue for players who have very stable connections coming up against "laggy" players with very poor net speeds or high ping and latency as well as out of region players so this should be a very welcome addition to the game for those players with good internet.

EDIT: Westie just put up a good video explaining the netcode changes.

I guess for me the one thing i take away from this is that DICE isn't providing enough servers globally for people to play on. Being Australian i can use NZ as an example as we get a lot of Kiwi players in our games and there are many instances when they have high ping or latency to the BF servers which makes for a bad game experience. Unfortunately at the moment, EA doesn't have any New Zealand based servers so those players have no choice but to play in the closest located servers which are here in Australia. Since EA disallowed third party server host for rental servers and official hosting they have drastically reduced the amount of locations that servers are located which doesn't benefit the community at all.
