Staff from EA DICE, CD Projekt Red Studio, SEGA Europe and many other games industry companies will be attending SpecialEffect’s annual GameBlast weekend on February 24-26.

Heralded as ‘the best reason to game ever,’ GameBlast will once again see hundreds of charity livestreams taking place over three days of non-stop fun. The event has raised over £1M over the last decade, enabling the charity to help thousands more people all over the world to enjoy video games to the very best of their abilities. A full streaming schedule can be found on the charity’s official community Discord.

As well as the individual gamers and creators who’ll collectively be hosting hundreds of hours of charity steams, many well-known names from the games industry will be supporting the event.

EA DICE will livestream for six hours starting at 12:00pm GMT / 13:00 CET on Friday 24th February. There will be plenty of chat about game development and creative experiences with members of the development teams behind Battlefield 2042, plus much more.

The EA DICE Social Impact Team, who have helped put the livestream together, commented: “We are super excited to once again support SpecialEffect and the fantastic work they do. Their cause is something very important for all of us and we want to encourage our colleagues, community and players to join us at twitch.tv/EA_DICE to support SpecialEffect and to celebrate GameBlast’s tenth birthday!”

CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, will also be hosting a stream of their own. Senior Communication Manager Paweł Burza will adventure deep into the Hearts of Stone expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, joined by the voice of Geralt of Rivia himself, Doug Cockle. The stream will air live on February 21st, 6PM CET, at twitch.tv/cdprojektred.

Speaking about the stream, Senior Community Manager Carolin Wendt said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of GameBlast for the second year running — and to support SpecialEffect at the same time! As a charity, SpecialEffect has one main goal: levelling the playing field for everyone with physical challenges all around the world. Their focus lies on improving people’s lives through video games and technology — and we’re so excited to be able to play a role in this. Together with our community, we’re eager to support this charity project while discussing The Witcher with old and new players alike.”

SpecialEffect are also delighted to welcome back SEGA Europe, one of the longest running GameBlast partners, who will be building on the success of previous years by coordinating an incredible team of streamers, with events set to run throughout the whole weekend.

Marilia Campos, Community Manager at SEGA Europe, commented: “We can’t wait to celebrate ten years of GameBlast and support this amazing event again! Our SEGA Stream Team is filled with talented content creators that are super excited to raise awareness and funds for SpecialEffect and all their incredible efforts. Stay tuned!”

Insert Coin have this year created a limited edition GameBlast mug with all profits going to the charity, and AOC will kindly be providing peripherals and monitors as incentives for fundraising giveaways and competitions.

SpecialEffect’s COO Tom Donegan said, “GameBlast is very close to our hearts here at SpecialEffect because it reflects the very essence of what we do: gamers coming together to help their fellow gamers. It's always a really feel-good weekend and we can’t wait to see the variety of streams and challenges our amazing supporters come up with this year to mark the 10th anniversary of the event!”
