I have been excited about this game as I am a fan of the movies. But the more I read up on the game the less and less I see mad max the movie.

1. There will be no Australian Voice Actors.
2. Max's car is now a make shift El Camino.
3. No word on the location other than huge open world desert.
4. It has been revealed the game will share no story with the past or future Mad Max movies.

The only thing I have seen carried over is a black car, the guys name, and the car had driver on right side of car.

I hope this will be a great game, but It will not have the Mad Max spirit.

I read somewhere that they were trying to get an Australian actor to voice the game, but after reading what you've said i guess they didn't end up going in that direction. Sad Whoever came up with the idea to make a Mad Max game is a legend, just a shame it doesn't tie into the series.

Hell, I don't think Mel Gibson is up to much these days, I bet he would be up for it. Also, My gal Anna Torv can take over the narration. In the research I did, one of the blogs mentioned that he asked the producer if they might still consider getting at least an Australian voice actor for the main character since many fans were dissapointed, the producer said, "well, we'll see".

I didn't realize that the Mad Max game would not have any references from any of the movies too. I just expected it to be connected. What was the name of Mad Max in the USA? I remember it was called somethiing different. ah, thats right "Road Warrior" is that right?

Let's see how this one turns out huh.

I have always known it as Mad Max here. Mad Max, Mad Max: the Road warrior, Mad Max: beyond Thunder-dome.

I stand corrected lol.. But hows this: years ago when I used to be in the video importing scene, I remember I imported a movie from overseas called The Road Warrior, it had no reference to mad max in the title, but then i put it on and it was the same movie.. very strange.

You are right hobbs I remember that too and wikipedia just confirm it "Mad Max 2 (AKA The Road Warrior)"

If it is a Mad Max I expect lots of violence... the closest game to mad max was maybe Rage I think.

Cult director Jamie Blanks, known best for the slasher flick Urban Legend, and Donal Gibson contacted AusGamers yesterday, suggesting Gibson take on the role for the lead in the upcoming game. An audio demo of Donal is available right here.

Donal Gibson has previously acted in a number of small roles in his brother's films. He's also tried his hand in the voice acting world with roles as Captain John Smith in Disney's Pocahontas 2: Journey to a New World and Captain Boomerang in cartoon series Justice League Unlimited.

Avalanche Studios has yet to give any official word on casting decisions at this point; however, We've contacted the studio for comment regarding Donal Gibson's interest.

Mel Gibson's brother interested in taking on the lead in Mad Max:
