Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 5, the next game in the explosive Battlefield series, will bring it's all-out military themed action to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2016.

"Now that we've shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving on to another project, the next Battlefield..", tweeted Dan Vaderlind, Development Director at @EA_DICE.

The last Battlefield game "Battlefield Hardline" was developed by Visceral Games. Hardline was released in March 2016. Battlefield 5 will return to the traditional military setting that it's known for, instead of the latest cop theme used on Battlefield Hardline.

Developed by DICE and published by EA, "Battlefield 5" is currently scheduled for release in late-2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
