Mark your calendars! On March 20th 2014 at GDC Microsoft will be unveiling DX12 to the world. Not only that but they have so much as said the xbox one supports it in hardware and they have added the Xbox One logo to the conference flyer.
If this holds true, it is a strong indication we know 'not much' about the internals of the X1 hardware. Sounds like it was designed for DirextX 12 all along.
The PS4 hardware is only at the equivalent level of DirectX 11.1 or possibly, if it can do Titling, then at DX11.2 levels. It can never be at DX12 caliber but the Xbox One is in the hardware. Krazy stuff if this turns out to be the case!
It means the xbox one is not just packing a AMD 7900 GPU, it's either super modified and or it has another 'thing' up its sleeve!
Of course, is case you do not understand my train of thought, the PS4 with never run any form of Direct X, only the equivalent alternatives.
