The Open Beta for Turtle Rock Studios' upcoming asymmetrical, cooperative/competitive shooter video game "EVOLVE" begins today January 15th and will be available to anyone with an Xbox Live Gold account - no code required.

Evolve expertly blends cooperative and competitive multiplayer experiences as a team of four hunters face off against a single, player-controlled monster. Set on an alien planet in the distant future, gamers hunt their prey in adrenaline-pumping 4V1 matches. Players experience Evolve as a first-person shooter when playing cooperatively as the four hunters, while they control the monster in the third-person perspective, providing a gameplay experience unique to Evolve.

The Open Beta will feature two playable monsters (Goliath and Kraken), eight hunters and 12 playable maps. In addition, beginning on Saturday, January 17th, beta players will get the exclusive chance to go hands-on in Evacuation mode.  Evacuation mode combines an array of maps and modes to create Evolve’s most epic multiplayer experience.

Also exclusive to Xbox One: any hunter or monster characters unlocked during the beta will carry over to the retail game when Evolve launches on February 10^th, 2015. Get a head start by pre-loading the beta today and begin playing the moment servers come online at 9am PST.

Evolve is available for pre-order and pre-download from the Xbox Store online with two versions to choose from:

• The Xbox One Evolve Pre-Order Edition includes the standard game an3d the Monster Expansion Pack. The Monster Expansion pack includes the first new downloadable monster upon release and instantly unlocks a new class of hunters and the monster Wraith.
  
  
• The Xbox One Evolve Deluxe Edition includes the standard game, plus Season Pass, and the Monster Expansion Pack.
