World Update XVI: Caribbean Brings New Scenery and Challenges to Microsoft Flight Simulator this week!
Get ready to explore the beauty and diversity of the Caribbean region in the latest World Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (@MSFSofficial). World Update XVI: Caribbean will be available for free on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, for all owners of the game.
World Update XVI: Caribbean will bring new and improved data for the Caribbean islands, including new Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data, which enhances the terrain and water features, and new aerial imagery, which adds more detail and realism to the scenery. The update will also include 104 hand-crafted points of interest, such as landmarks, monuments, and natural wonders, that showcase the culture and history of the region.
In addition, the update will feature seven bespoke airports, which have been carefully designed and modeled to reflect their real-world counterparts. These airports are located in Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and other islands, and offer a variety of challenges and experiences for pilots. The update will also introduce a new Local Legend aircraft, which is related to the Caribbean region and its aviation history. The details of this aircraft have not been revealed yet, but it is hinted that it will be a helicopter.
To complement the new content, the update will also provide new missions and activities, such as Landing Challenges, Bush Trips, and Discovery Flights, that will allow players to discover and enjoy the Caribbean region in different ways. These missions and activities will test the skills and knowledge of the players, as well as offer fun and rewarding experiences.
