Other Ocean Interactive has announce that the first major content update for Project Winter is now available on Xbox, Windows 10 and Steam. Elevate your Betrayal with a new map that will bring some uphill battles and high level gameplay to the Project Winter experience. 

Project Winter is a pioneer in the massively popular social deception game genre combining familiar game mechanics such as crafting and resource gathering with hidden-role gameplay for an intriguing and challenging experience. New Xbox players will have access to the same features as PC players in their quest for survival and escape; including text chat, emotes and proximity voice channels. No matter what platform they’re playing on, the icy and unforgiving wilderness of Project Winter provides a challenge filled with sabotage, betrayal and starving grizzly bears.

“We are excited to release these new features to our over 1 million survivors and traitors in our Project Winter community,” said Other Ocean’s Product Director, Ryan Hale. “Whether you are new to the game or have been playing since the beginning, this new content update gives players new and exciting ways to betray their friends.” 

This major content update includes a new map with the following features: 

• The cabin is located on the northernmost tile rather than in the center, overlooking the rest of the map from an elevated position

• Two options for accessing the rest of the map from the cabin: a gondola that provides rapid transport to the southernmost tile, or a narrow ramp that descends the cliffside to the immediate area below the cabin

• New gameplay dynamics, with the first objective now being located outside the southern gondola station rather than around the cabin and the ability for traitors to delay the gondola via sabotage

Be extra careful of who you can trust as this map gives a whole new meaning to having a “ride or die” friend! Project Winter, the perfect game to back-stab your friends just added a new level of deception. Are you ready?

This update also introduces other new features, balance changes, and bug fixes. Some notable changes include:

• Two new main tile variations for the existing normal mode maps which alter the positions of trees, rocks, etc. surrounding the cabin

• Text chat can now be used in pregame lobbies, which also logs messages when players join, leave or get kicked

• Added sound effect that plays when sending or receiving messages via text chat to better draw attention to it

• Various changes to improve UI when using a controller

• Updated crossplay icon visuals to help them read better

• Traitor radio jamming ability no longer jams red radio channel

• Identity Thieves now gain access to the red radio channel when stealing a traitor role

The new update is available on all platforms today - Xbox,Windows 10, and Steam.
