The franchise has seen several games being released, starting with Little Nightmares, produced by Bandai Namco Europe and developed by Tarsier Studios, in 2017. Players become Six as they try to escape the Maw, an underwater vessel filled with grotesque inhabitants. Its sequel, Little Nightmares II, released in 2021, told the story of Mono, a young boy with a paper bag on his head, meeting the girl in the yellow raincoat. This encounter leads them to explore various locations in Pale City, a place distorted by the humming transmission of the Signal Tower.

In addition to these, Very Little Nightmares, a mobile game developed by Alike Studio where players have to escape the Nest and discover more about Six’s backstory, was released in 2019.

“The Little Nightmares franchise has seen some great growth and success since the first episode, which was released six years ago today”, said Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Europe. “We are proud of the work accomplished by the teams at Bandai Namco Europe along with Tarsier Studios, Engine Software and Supermassive Games to make great games while at the same time expanding the franchise to more media.”

“Seeing the community growing over the years has been a blessing”, added Lucas Roussel, Publishing Director and Little Nightmares Executive Producer at Bandai Namco Europe. “When we started Little Nightmares, we thought that we really had something special, but we are still amazed every day by our fans’ commitment to the franchise. We can’t thank them enough for their dedication and we are continuing to work on what’s next for the franchise.”

Little Nightmares is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Little Nightmares II is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Very Little Nightmares is available on iOS and Android.
